3rd October 2009
It was absolutely great to find a Clip of the World Team Cup 1968 at Wembley on the World SRA Website and your names were listed at the end of the clips.
I would like to thank you for this as my ex husband Norman Hunter was reserve at this meeting for GB and did actually ride in one race, although his name does not appear on the Page giving information on the Pathe Clip. Although it does not showing him riding there is a shot at the end of him with the team at the presentation
Our daughters have asked me to gather as much information as I can on Norman and I am writing a mini biography on him for them. Our grandchildren went to their first speedway meeting a couple of weeks ago and were overwhelmed that their Grandad raced like this and were won over by Speedway. I have actually been trying to find some video of him and have written to Wally Loak who may have something. Do you know of anywhere else I might find clips so our grandchildren could be able to see him riding?
Many thanks Regards Janet Hunter If you can help please contact Janet on her e-mail by clicking here

Wimbledon Speedway I went to Wimbledon Speedway in the late 1940's,early 50's and have just dug out my autograph book with the signatures of some of the stars of that time. Norman Parker, Ronnie Moore, Reg Trott. Mike Erskine, Jim Gregory and many more. My favourite was Cyril Bryne and after a meeting my friend and I would go round to where the cars were parked and talk to his wife who would chat to us for ages, she was a lovely lady and we thought we were very privileged as she knew us both by our first names! What has happened to all these stars now? I was only l4/15 years old at the time so they must all be well into their 80's now. Sandra Braniff

Many Thanks
